Setting up winamp
winamp is a good way to stream your music into Second Life with no cost for software.
In order to stream into Second Life using winamp you need the following software:
Winamp software
SHOUTcast plugin for winamp
Download the software from both the links above, or if you have winamp allready, just download the second link.
Install both programs, now there is a few simple steps to setting winamp up to broadcast on your stream.
1. Launch winamp.
2. From winamp main drop down menu, Select 'Options/Perferences...'.
3. Scroll down the options on the left of the window untill you come to an option 'DSP/Effect' highlight this option.
4. Highlight 'Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v1.9.0' on the right and press the 'Configure active plug-in' button at the bottom of the window.
5. you will be presented with the SHOUTcast plugin settings, Click on the Output tab.

You will be presented with the above screen, here we will add all the configuration for your stream.
7. In the Address box, enter the Host from your account notecard. In the Port box enter the Port from the notecard and in the password, enter the first (stream) password from your notecard.. type this in very carefully.
8. Press the Connect button, if bytes start counting up in the Status box, you are streaming, now just play some tunes in winamp.
9. By default winamp streams at 24kbps quality, you really want to change this to 128kbps or 192kbps, you can do this under the 'Encoder' tab.
Thats it all done. whenever you start winamp in the future, the SHOUTcast source window will also start, so you can connect to your stream.
